It challenges you to see with fresh eyes and paint with immediacy and intention. Workshop duration: 3.5 About the instructor Kanchan Mehendale is a self taught, contemporary artist. Born in Mumbai, India, she currently lives in the beautiful garden city of Singapore. A versatile artist, her artworks span different subjects & ideas. She paints with acrylics, oils and watercolours. She enjoys the finer aspects of working with each medium – acrylics, oils and watercolours; and swapping between them constantly challenges her creativity and in her words “Keeps her on her toes”! She paints instinctively, usually beginning with a simple emotion, belief or memory and portrays it on a canvas. Her inspirations are mostly from nature, people, emotions, memories, things we see and what we revere. Kanchan’s art not only helps capture a home’s personality, but also captivates and entralls the viewer. She has participated in multiple group exhibitions and her artworks have found homes all around the world. Her versatility in using different mediums and ability to paint a large variety of themes and subjects has helped build a large portfolio of artworks. She collaborates with clients to develop their ideas and create commissioned artworks. You’ll learn how to: Use your pencil to measure proportions and scale Accurately capture architectural lines and angles Simplify complex scenes for clarity and impact Observe and mix colour palettes directly from your surroundings Respond to shifting light with speed and confidence Create compelling compositions with a strong sense of depth Whether you're just beginning your watercolour journey or looking to enhance your on-location skills, this immersive workshop is a chance to slow down, observe more deeply, and connect with your subject in real time.
