About the Event Join the Singapore Lyric Opera Chorus for a landmark tribute to World Opera Day — a sweeping journey through some of the operatic canon's most powerful choral masterworks. United for the occasion, our Children's, Youth and Adult Choruses come together across generations to reveal the full spectrum of what massed voices can achieve: the electric energy of Bizet's Les Voici from Carmen, the hushed tenderness of Humperdinck's Evening Prayer from Hansel and Gretel, and the aching grandeur of Verdi's Va, pensiero from Nabucco — a chorus so beloved it became an anthem of longing and hope. Together, these works trace two centuries of operatic storytelling, from intimate lullaby to full-throated declaration. The programme spans the works of Bizet, Humperdinck, Saint-Saëns, Purcell, Mascagni, Puccini and Verdi — seven composers, seven traditions, one shared language of voice and emotion. SLO Celebrates World Opera Day is a tribute to music that has endured for generations, performed by the very choruses carrying that tradition forward. Come raise your voice with ours and share in opera's enduring spirit. Registration and Attendance Registration is not required for this programme. Please walk in. Admission is subject to availability and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts. Seats may be released to walk-in participants if you arrive late.
