Participants will explore the streets of Geylang in search of found letterforms—C, A, and N—capturing them through the camera before returning to DECK to transform their images into a bold typographic poster. Blending observation, design, and image-making, the workshop encourages participants to see familiar surroundings in unexpected ways while reflecting on language, place, and visual storytelling. Each participant will leave with a printed CAN is CAN poster of their own—a unique artwork created from photographs taken during the session. The workshop will include designated lunch break for participants. This programme is part of ArtsEverywhere @ NLB, an initiative to bring arts experiences to communities where they live, work and play, in conjunction with SIPF 2026. About the Facilitator Alvin Ng is a Southeast Asian photographic artist and educator based in Singapore.. His art evokes an entrancing allure that transcends temporal boundaries, inviting viewers to embark on a voyage towards the wonder of the worlds beyond the world. His personal projects have been selected across various international festivals such as the Photo London Fair, Paris Photo Festival, and they have also been featured in prestigious publications such as the New York Times, Harpers Magazine, and Die Zeit. Outside of his practice as an artist, Alvin is also a professional commercial photographer since 2016, whose clientele stretches across the hospitality, interior, editorial and travel industry. Such clients include: Kodak, Club Med, Rice Media, Klook, Amazon, VICE News, The Smart Local, Lo & Behold Group, Monocle and further afield. Registration and Attendance Registration is required for this programme. Please register one ticket per person. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts. Seats may be released to walk-in participants if you arrive late.
