This session explores powerful questioning techniques that enhance decision-making, problem-solving, and innovation, while demonstrating how strategic questions can guide both human thinking and AI-generated answers more effectively. About Derek Ariss As the Head of Innovation Education at Innoventiem, Derek Ariss designs and delivers programs that foster adaptability, design thinking, and creative problem-solving. Currently an Affiliate Faculty Member at Singapore Management University (SMU), Derek teaches Innovation, Adaptability, and Critical Thinking with AI. With a background leading innovation for LendLease and retail operations across Asia, he has spent over seven years teaching teams how to transition from transactional mindsets to becoming trusted advisors. Thrive@Libraries 2026 Thrive@Libraries aims to re-introduce adults to the rich diversity of NLB resources, programmes, and services while celebrating reading as a way to live well. Permission to Pause This year's theme is an invitation to busy working adults to view libraries as a space to pause and discover their interests through NLB's resources. Discover ways you can pause ─ to read, to play, and to connect. ReadSG This festival is part of ReadSG. NLB's national movement to make reading a lifelong habit and a shared culture that nurtures curious minds, critical thinkers and informed citizens. The ReadSG Challenge is NLB's national reading initiative that invites Singaporeans to rediscover the joy of reading through a simple daily reading habit. All it takes is 15 minutes a day to build a reading habit. That's about the time between three MRT stops, waiting for your bus, or enjoying your morning coffee. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts. Seats may be released to walk-in participants if you arrive late.
