About the Event As artificial intelligence reshapes creative practice, music is entering a new era of innovation. Music in the Age of AI explores how AI technologies are transforming composition, production, and musical experiences. This talk introduces key concepts such as generative music, intelligent audio tools, and AI-assisted creativity, while highlighting real-world applications across genres. It also examines ethical and creative questions around authorship, originality, and the future role of musicians. Designed for students, educators, and music enthusiasts, this session offers an accessible overview of how human creativity and intelligent technology are shaping the future of sound. Facilitator: Joe Yang is a Lecturer and business development lead with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Singapore Polytechnic. He has developed and taught modules related to software applications (Robotic Process Automation, Microsoft Power BI and PowerApps), data analytics (using TIBCO Spotfire and Excel), machine learning and artificial intelligence. He leads in the development of Generative AI-powered chatbot and application for Teaching and Learning (T&L) especially in the areas of Self-Directed Learning (SDL) and Data-Enabled Flipped Learning (DEFL). For the industries and public, Joe has also conducted courses and webinars in the areas of Generative AI, T&L innovations, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. In recent years, Joe is actively involved with T&L action research programs, developing useful tools and AI powered applications for students learning.
