About the Event Learn how to play chess in this beginner-friendly hands-on chess workshop! This session will be conducted by students from Victoria Junior College Strategic Games Club. Participants will be taught some basic checkmates, spotting checkmates, and other strategies, then try the game for themselves under the guidance of our student trainers! 11 Oct session will focus on International Chess and 18 Oct session will focus on Chinese Chess. However, participants will also have a chance to play either International or Chinese Chess after the VJC students’ sharing. Registration and Attendance Registration is required for this programme. Please register one ticket per person. Attendance will be taken using the NLB Mobile app. Please download the app (https://go.gov.sg/nlbmobile-attendance) or update it to the latest version. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry. [For parent-child programmes] Parents attending with children: please add your child’s profile in the NLB Mobile app before arriving, so you can include their attendance in the submission. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts. Seats may be released to walk-in participants if you arrive late.
