About the Event Facilitated by Artistic Director Marwyn Ho Explore Shakespeare's prose, followed by table work, guided rehearsal, and voluntary participant presentations. Open to actors, literary enthusiasts, and curious theatregoers alike, this two-part workshop invites participants behind the scenes of The Winter Players’ rehearsal process as the company prepares for its upcoming production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Led by TWP Artistic Director Marwyn Ho, the sessions aim to demystify the mechanics of Shakespeare's text. Participants will learn practical methods for breaking down verse, prose, monologues, and soliloquies—uncovering the rhythmic clues Shakespeare embeds for the actor. The workshop culminates in an optional, low-stakes individual staged reading of a Shakespeare speech/soliloquy of your own choosing, where participants share their textual breakdown and perform their chosen speech for the group. Participants are warmly encouraged to take part in presenting a reading, regardless of prior acting experience. Registration and Attendance Registration is required for this programme.
