About the Event For many years, historians have known that Darwin did not discover evolution when he saw the beaks of the finches on the Galapagos. But why are these almost the most widely known beliefs about Darwin? If they are not based on what Darwin actually did and wrote, then what are they based on? Where do these legends come from? This programme is part of a series on sustainability co-curated with the NUS Department of Biological Sciences. Please note that presentation slides may be available during or after the programme, depending on the programme. About the Speaker: Dr John van Wyhe is a historian of science, writer, broadcaster and Director of The Complete Work of Charles Darwin Online (https://darwin-online.org.uk/Introduction.html).
