About the Event Street photography took its first steps in as early as the mid 19th Century and has continued to evolve into different sub forms focusing on different subjects, styles and philosophies. Word on the Street explores the versatility street photography offers for the novice, all the way to those who have been practicing it and how the streets in Singapore can offer different perspectives and experiences through the lens of different photographers. About the Speaker Benjamin Tan is a full-time photographer and educator, having previously worked in the social services sector, with a passion in using photography to make a positive impact on mental health. He engages students and audiences by encouraging them to explore the deeper meanings behind their work, asking ‘why’ within the ‘what.’ Ben is also 1/2 of People Person’s Paper People, or PPPP, a collaborative space for on-the-ground initiatives centered on photozines, prints, and bringing people together (IG: @pppaperp). This programme is suitable for adults. Registration and Attendance Registration is not required for this programme. Please walk in. Admission is subject to availability and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
