Discover practical ways to build trust, understand workplace triggers, and navigate relationships more positively at work. Positive workplace relationships can make work more enjoyable, collaborative, and productive. Yet even strong relationships can become strained through misunderstandings, unmet expectations, differences in working styles, or seemingly small interactions. In this interactive webinar, Executive Coach Ms. Jenny Toh will explore what helps professional relationships thrive and what can sometimes get in the way. Participants will be introduced to the Trust Equation (developed by David Maister, Charles Green, and Robert Galford) as a practical way of thinking about behaviours that strengthen trust. They will also explore David Rock’s SCARF model to understand how workplace situations involving status, certainty, autonomy, relatedness, and fairness can influence how we respond to one another. The session will be organised around three practical ideas: 1. Build (Create trust through everyday behaviour): Explore how credibility, reliability, psychological safety, and our orientation towards others can strengthen or weaken trust. 2. Notice (Recognise what may be happening beneath the surface): Use the SCARF model to identify situations that may trigger strong reactions in ourselves or others, and consider the difference between intention and impact. 3. Repair (Respond constructively when relationships become strained): Practise a simple "Pause – Get Curious – Choose" approach to move from automatic reaction towards a more thoughtful response. Key Learning Outcomes: By the end of the session, participants will be able to: - Identify everyday behaviours that help build professional trust. - Recognise common workplace situations that may affect responses. - Become more aware of how others experience their actions. - Approach misunderstandings and strained relationships with greater curiosity. - Identify one practical action to strengthen an important workplace relationship.
