About the Event Lim Tze Peng is known for his nostalgic depictions of Singapore captured via ink paintings and Chinese calligraphy. Untitled (Blue Mosque) (c. Late 1970s) presents Lim’s interpretation of Sultan Mosque and its surrounding areas, located in the Kampong Glam district today. While the mosque is no longer blue, the artwork reflects a culmination of his memories of the mosque from the 1950s to 1960s. In this beginner-friendly workshop, Mr Lee Soon Heng will introduce participants to the basics of Chinese calligraphy. Mr Lee is an award-winning artist with more than 30 years of experience in Chinese calligraphy and Chinese ink painting, exhibiting in numerous local and overseas exhibitions. This programme is suitable for teens aged 13 to 17. Please note that the programme venue is at Level 4 open space beside MakeIT. Registration and Attendance Registration is required for this programme. Please register one ticket per person. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry.
