About the Programme The Abilities Unlocked Series spotlights the lived experiences, skills, and talents of persons with disabilities, strengthening self-advocacy through inclusive programmes. This session introduces participants to the life cycle of Xiao Bai Cai, a commonly consumed leafy vegetable, through an engaging combination of sharing, demonstration, and hands-on learning. Led by trainees from Bizlink Centre’s BLOOMERS programme, participants will explore how a tiny seed develops into a fresh and nutritious vegetable. The session highlights key growth stages—from germination to harvesting—using simple hydroponics techniques. Participants can expect: An introduction to the life cycle of Xiao Bai Cai A visual showcase of plant growth stages (e.g. Day 0, Day 3, Day 14, Day 30) A live demonstration of simple hydroponics planting techniques Sharing by BLOOMERS trainees on their learning experiences At the end of the session, participants will also be invited to: View real plant samples at different growth stages Explore a simple table-top hydroponics display Interact with BLOOMERS trainees and take photos Receive a simple “Grow-at-Home” seed starting kit to continue their learning journey This programme combines plant science, sustainability education, and inclusive storytelling, making it suitable for families, students, and community groups. About the Organisation Bizlink Centre is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting persons with disabilities and persons in recovery from mental health conditions, through training and employment. BLOOMERS is an inclusive urban farming and therapeutic work programme that uses hydroponics as a platform for skill development, confidence building, and work readiness. Participants are guided through structured, step-by-step tasks—from seed preparation to harvesting—providing meaningful engagement and a pathway towards employment Accessibility Arrangements Please submit the Accessibility Arrangement Form (https://go.gov.sg/nlbaccessibilityarrangements) to request for accessibility arrangements. Registration and Attendance Registration is required for this programme. Please register one ticket per person. Attendance will be taken using the NLB Mobile app. Please download the app (https://go.gov.sg/nlbmobile-attendance) or update it to the latest version. Then, scan the QR code at the venue to take your attendance upon entry. Please arrive 10 minutes before the session starts. Seats may be released to walk-in participants if you arrive late.
